<em><strong>Hollanda’da bir tıp merkezi, bir dönem tüm dünyayı sarsan kuş gribi virüsünü “insandan insana geçebilen” hale getirdi. Ancak bu endişe ve büyük bir güvenlik tartışması yarattı<br /> </strong></em><br /> H5N1 virüsünün yol açtığı Kuş gribi kabusu, 1996’da ilk kez Çin’de ortaya çıktığında yarattığı tehlikenin pek farkına varılmamıştı. 2003’te hızlanan salgın tüm dünyada yaklaşık 600 kişinin ölümüne neden olmuş, milyonlarca kuşun itlaf edilmesiyle sonuçlanmıştı. Türkiye’de de bu süreçte 12 kişide H5N1 tespit edilmiş, bunlardan 4 kişi hayatını kaybetmişti. 2009’dan itibaren virüs hız kesse de dünyanın çeşitli bölgelerinde tek tük vakalar devam etti.<br /> <strong><br /> En ölümcül salgın</strong><br /> <br /> Virüs insandan insana geçmiyor, sadece hastalıklı kuşlarla yakın temas kuran kişilerde görülüyordu. Bilim insanları, virüsün insandan insana bulaşacak şekilde mutasyon geçirmesi halinde dünyayı büyük bir felaketin beklediği uyarısı yapıyorlardı çünkü H5N1 görüldüğü insanların yüzde 60’ının ölümüne neden olmuştu. Bu da kuş gribi salgınını “modern çağların en ölümcül salgını” yapmıştı. Ancak bilim insanlarının bu korkusu gerçek oldu. İngiliz The Independent gazetesinin haberine göre, Hollanda’da bir üniversitede yapılan araştırmada H5N1 kuş gribi virüsünün kolayca bulaşan ve milyonlarca kişiyi öldürebilecek bir türü geliştirildi. Rotterdam’daki Erasmus Tıp Merkezi tarafından yapılan çalışmada, virüs mutasyona uğratılarak, hapşırma ve öksürme gibi yollarla da kolayca bulaşabilir hale getirildi. Ancak milyonlarca insanın ölümüne neden olabilecek bu buluş büyük bir tartışmaya da neden oldu.<br /> <br /> <strong>Maliyeti ağır olur</strong><br /> <br /> ABD Biyogüvenlik Kurumu, teröristlerin eline geçmesi halinde büyük bir felaket yaşanacağı gerekçesiyle bu çalışmanın yayınının engellemesi gerektiğini açıkladı. Gazeteye konuşan bir Amerikalı yetkili “Küresel bir salgına neden olabilecek ölümcül bir buluş. Dünyaya maliyeti çok ağır olur. En kötü senaryo hayal edebileceğimizden bile beter olur” diye konuştu. Mutasyona uğrayan virüsün tıp merkezinin kasalarında kilitli olduğu ancak binada hiçbir silahlı koruma bulunmaması da eleştiriliyor. Amerikalı bazı uzmanlar, bu gibi araştırmaların sadece askeri laboratuvarlarda yapılmasını savunuyor.<br /> <img
